A great television for the money

The TV comes with a small black metal stand, remote control, batteries, and a user guide, all packaged in a cardboard box large apartment. Unpacking and assembly takes only a few minutes. You will need a screwdriver to set the stand (it uses four screws) and attach it to the TV (four screws). After that, it's just a matter of standing on TV anywhere you want, plug it in and turn it on.

Set-up is very simple. It uses clear on the screen to guide you, so (almost) nothing can go wrong. It scans the digital and analog channels (if you still receive it), then asks you to set a PIN and enter your name and address. This is a security feature. If the TV is stolen, the thieves must have the PIN to reset the details, they can not be changed or reset without it (at least that's what Panasonic claims).

I'm no expert on TVs but, compared to LCDs little I have owned, the situation seems excellent to me. Blacks are intense and vibrant colors without being too saturated. There are various parameters to adjust the color, brightness and saturation, and for the establishment of sound, but the defaults look good.

TNT is good support. The program guide is comprehensive, fast to load and easy to use. This is facilitated by a combination of really well-designed remote, which has large buttons with clear legends. Like many other manufacturers, Panasonic has designed its product to work well together, using HDMI cables. With this in mind, the handset includes a few controls for handling parts Viera.

As always with televisions today, things that you can connect to it, and how you connect them, can be complicated. To see the devices can be connected, and how to do, I've included some photos of the user's guide (see top of this web page - you will be entitled to zoom in to see details).

The SD card slot has been more useful than we thought it would. Rather than worrying about cables for connecting a television camera, just in SD card slot, then use the television media player functions to display photos and videos.

The only drawback I've found so far is the lack of a power button. You can go to standby using the power button on the side, but if you want it completely off and then you have to switch from the wall outlet. Page 9 of the manual says in English a little weird, "To completely turn off the TV, please turn off the wall outlet or remove the plug from the wall." I'm impressed by that, especially in encouraging people to leave on standby, which is not ideal for the environment or the electricity bill.

Overall it's a really good TV for the money. The picture is great, the sound is excellent, and it is easy to control. I am upset with the power switch, but I guess I can live with that.
